If you need a metal garden shed for garden sites or another outdoor area, Texas Metal Tanks can retrofit the same round steel structures used for our rainwater cisterns into a practical storage shed. The familiar corrugated profile works well near a garden or workshop, and it fits naturally beside an existing water collection system.

Each shed is made to order at our Dripping Springs factory using domestic steel. A fitted access door turns the tank form into an enclosed space for long-handled tools and everyday garden supplies. Be aware that water storage tanks that are converted for garden shed storage access rather than designed to hold water and equipment at the same time.

Steel gives a garden shed a solid structure without the risk of rot or insect damage and avoids the lightweight feel of many plastic storage units. The round shape has a smaller visual footprint than a traditional box-style shed and suits the agricultural look found on many Texas properties.

Galvanized or Stainless Steel Options

Galvanized sheds use the same G-90 grade, 20-gauge American steel found in our cisterns, with 22-gauge steel at the top. This material creates the classic silver appearance associated with farms and Hill Country homes.

Type 304 stainless steel offers greater resistance to corrosion, staining, and pitting. Its sidewalls use 20-gauge steel, and the top is 22 gauge. Stainless steel rivets support the construction and help the exterior maintain its appearance over time.

Custom Metal Garden Shed Sizes

Because every shed is retrofitted from a steel tank, potential dimensions are typically based on our available round tank forms. Larger standard forms range from approximately 5 to 8 feet 6 inches in diameter, with eave heights from 5 feet 8 inches to 10 feet 6 inches. Depending on the size, the domed top adds another 6 to 20 inches to the overall height.
